The Balance of Plant (BOP) is a critical supporting system in water electrolysis, encompassing all components beyond the electrolyzer. It is responsible for gas processing, water circulation, power supply, and system control, and plays a central role in determining system stability and operational efficiency.
Different electrolysis technologies impose distinct requirements on operating conditions and system configuration:
1. PEM systems operate with high-purity water, emphasizing fast dynamic response and precise control.
2. AEM systems offer greater flexibility in cost and water quality, but require more advanced system integration for water management and gas separation.
3. ALK systems are mature and suitable for large-scale continuous operation, with higher demands on electrolyte circulation and system stability.
EPC Energy leverages the characteristics of PEM, AEM, and ALK technologies to design and integrate gas–liquid separation, water treatment, power supply, and control systems accordingly. Through coordinated optimization of fluid dynamics, thermal management, and electrical control, we ensure stable operation and reliable engineering delivery across diverse operating conditions and applications.
